UPDATED August 17th, 2008

We EAT, SLEEP, RIDE, TALK, BREATH, DREAM, LIVE and LOVE MOTOCROSS!!!

Fly MX Park has been in business since 2005, it is a three quarter mile motocross facility featuring both dirt bikes and quads with a full range of classes from minis to seniors. The track is located on the beautiful Ohio River and many of the riders that have participated in events here have said it is the best prepared track and the most efficiently run of any track in the tri-state area. With it's many tight turns, rhythm sections, doubles, triples, table tops and big air jumps the track is exceptionally conducive to competitive side-by-side, handlebar-to-handlebar motocross action. . Fly MX Park is also the home of the best MX school in the tri-state area, “Big Guy’s MX School”.

We will be OPEN for practice on Wednesday, August 20th. The weather prediction for that day is Sunny and 84 degrees.

Make sure to check out the new page of pictures!!

RACE 10 (Sunday)
The Quad 50cc class had a new winner today for the first time this year, Daniel Gauding won his first race in the Quad class.
We had a some new racers in the 50cc Trail Bike, Mini Junior and Open Trail Bike class; the Herink Brothers from Bridgeport, OH.
The race results and point standings have been posted.

RACE 11 (Sunday)
Today was the best turnout of the year, so far. We had 111 riders at the track. Guy worked very hard on the track on Saturday to put it back into it's original condition from the beginning of the season. All of the jumps were built back up, the big holes have been repaired and the whoop section has been restored.
It's finally time to say something about Jamie Burton, he is the quietest, most unassuming person I have ever met. Yet, when the gate drops, all bets are off, this guy consistently wins the 30+ and the 40+ classes race after race. He is an extremely smooth rider and in fact when he is out front by himself (which is the place he seems to be all of the time), it is hard to judge just how fast he really rides. What finally made me think it is time to mention Jamie in an article was the second moto of the 30+ class today. He either got a bad start (or held back on purpose) and was dead last into the first turn, but by the end of the first lap he had moved into second place just before the last turn (of that lap) and and took over first place as he crossed the finish line jump. From there the lead just continued to grow. By the end of the moto, he could have probably ran out of gas and pushed his bike accross the line to win. What a ride!
The Quad 80-110 class was hugh today! There were 9 riders in the class. Kaleb Smolira came out on top today, in fact he led from wire-to-wire in both motos!
Also, I wanted to mention two riders that have been having great battles in the Mini-Junior Class lately; Calvin Valentine and Wyatt Barth. Both of these riders have been working very hard lately and it shows, I can see a marked improvement in the speed both of them are displaying on the track! It was very enjoyable to watch both compete today. Calvin had come from behind wins in both motos today! Good job to both of you!
There were a bunch of new riders today at the track; WELCOME to all of you!! I hope you had a good time and will come back and race with us again soon!

RACE 12 (Sunday)
We have been so blessed this year with the weather, the people that attend the races (racers and spectators), and the staff that works at each race. We have the best people in the tri-state area. It always seems like one big happy family where everyone worries about and looks out for each other. I am so glad I know Guy, Roberta, Cody and Dusty (and their families) and get the opportunity to come to each race and pretend to be an announcer. It has been more fun then a person should be allowed to have!
One of the hot races again this weekend was the Mini-Junior class. Wyatt Barth and Calvin Valentine had another great battle. They banged bars and both went down in the first moto. The rest of the pack was about half-way around the track before the two of them got going again. The two of them came from dead last to blast their way through the entire field of riders to move into 1st-Calvin and 2nd-Wyatt by the end of the moto.
It was good to see the Monroe "Racing" Family at the track again this race. Ariel Monroe raced (and won) in the Quad Junior class today, She looked really good out there today considering she is still recovering from a crash at Unadilla (NY) earlier this year that required major surgery to put all of the pieces back together again. Terry Monroe had an incredible race season this year. He recently finished 1st overall in the Open C class and 2nd overall in the Vet B/C class in the "ATVA Grand National Motocross Series". Also, Terry finished 1st overall in the Open C (Gold Medal) and 2nd overall in the Vet B/C class (Silver Medal) in the "ITP Grand Slam Series". Congratulations are definitely in order for Terry!
On another good note today, it was very good to see Zach Herink back at the track. He left in a bad way the last race, no one was quite sure what happened to him but he had to be lifted off of his motorcycle and helped off the track. Today we found out that after being life-flighted to Morgantown after the race that he was having trouble with a growth plate that required surgery to repair. He says he is "out" for the rest of the season but he is looking forward to coming back next year to race again. We wish him well!
We would like to welcome Zander Schmidt to the track today for his first race. He raced in the Quad 50cc class.
I almost fogot to mention that congratulations are in order for Andrew Arnold, he competed in the "National Hillclimb" event at Waterford, OH August 9-10 in the 125cc class and came in 10th. There were approximately 40 riders in his class and a total of 472 at the event!
The race results and point standings have been posted.

NOTICE: If you are getting frustrated by racing in other competing series and not being able to find out where you stand on a weekly basis, either in the race results or the point standings, come and race at FLY MX PARK!!
WE post race results and point standings immediately after each race! We don't make promises we can't keep! Also, when we post a race schedule, we stick to it, rain or shine!! We are like the old "Mutual of Omaha" insurance company; You can always count on us!!

RACE 18.

 How sad, when last
season
ended!! It's hard to believe what an awesome season we had
last year. The weather was excellent for every race but one, the track was in TEXT BOOK PERFECT condition, and the rider turnout was amazing! We can't thank everyone enough for all of your support in 2007.

Check out our new web page with pictures from the "Motocross des Nations" at Budds Creek. Our official "Fly MX Park" track photographer got some amazing pictures. We hope you enjoy them! I can only describe the race as "One Perfect Moment in Time". The "Men of Fly MX Park" did us proud, check out Cody, Dusty and Justin's results at the top of the new page. The USA once again proved to the world that they have the best Motocross Racers with a first place overall. France was second and Belgium came in third.

Remember, this season to be considered for the 2008 championship, you have to ride in 13 races at Fly MX Park. The explanation is at the bottom of the "Schedule" page for the 2008 requirements.

When you come to the races this season (2008), bring a portable radio with you. We are now broadcasting the day's event on an FM radio station (88.1Mhz).
